Product Description:

Cavalor PasSand supports the digestion of horses that graze on sandy pastures, helping to remove sand from the gut and support the intestinal wall. When horses graze on pastures with short or sparse grass, they may end up ingesting a significant amount of soil and sand. While small amounts pass through naturally, too much sand can accumulate in the lower sections and bends of the intestines. This build-up reduces the absorption of vital nutrients and fluids, while also affecting the intestinal mucous wall. Over time, large quantities of sand can lead to serious disturbances in the digestive system, as well as a decreased appetite and overall debilitation.

• Psyllium: Traditionally used to manage sand accumulation in the digestive tract. Psyllium contains mucilage and absorbs a large amount of water, swelling up to 5 times its volume. This creates a gelatinous substance in the horse’s intestines that effectively binds and helps remove accumulated sand. Psyllium is also highly beneficial to the natural gut flora.

• Inert Oils: These specialized oils are not absorbed by cells or tissue. Instead, they act as lubricants, making sand and feces smoother and much easier to eliminate from the body. Research indicates that combining psyllium with inert oils eliminates sand from the gut more quickly than using psyllium alone.

• Probiotics: Support the natural recovery of the gut lining from environmental friction and quickly bring the microflora back into a healthy balance.

Important Notice:

• Feeding Recommendation: Mix with the daily feed ration.

  • Routine Support (for horses on sandy pastures): Give 2 x 50 g per day for 10 consecutive days per month.

  • Targeted Support (if sand is noticed): Give 2 x 100 g per day for 10 consecutive days.

• 1 measuring scoop = 50 g. Maximum per horse per day: 300 g.

• Tip (Faecal Sand Test): To check if your horse is ingesting a lot of sand, place a few fecal balls in a clear plastic bag, flatten them, and add water. After one hour, any sand present will settle clearly to the bottom of the bag.

• Store in a cool, dry place and keep the container tightly closed after use.

• Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 300 g. This product is a supplementary feed and does not replace a balanced basic diet or immediate, professional veterinary emergency care for acute, severe clinical gastrointestinal conditions (such as severe impactions or colic).
