Product Description

Cavalor PasSand is a specially developed complementary feed for horses grazing on sandy pastures or kept on dirt paddocks. It supports the natural clearance processes of the digestive tract, helping to remove ingested sand and soil from the gut while gently supporting the integrity of the intestinal wall.

When horses graze on short or sparse grass, they can inadvertently ingest a significant amount of soil and sand. While small amounts pass through naturally, an excess can accumulate in the lower sections and bends of the intestines. This buildup can reduce the optimal absorption of vital nutrients and fluids, while also placing mechanical stress on the delicate intestinal mucous membranes. Cavalor PasSand supports healthy digestive function and overall nutritional well-being through a highly effective, synergistic combination of ingredients:

• Premium Psyllium: Traditionally used for nutritional management of sand accumulation in the digestive tract. Psyllium contains high levels of mucilage and absorbs a large amount of water, swelling up to several times its original volume. This creates a gelatinous substance in the horse’s intestines that effectively binds accumulated sand, facilitating its smooth, natural elimination. Psyllium is also highly beneficial to the balance of the natural gut flora.

• Inert Oils (Lubricating Effect): These specialized oils are not absorbed by cells or tissues, remaining strictly within the intestinal tract. They act as a safe lubricant, making the passage of sand and feces smoother and much easier to eliminate naturally. Research indicates that combining psyllium with inert oils supports the natural clearance of sand from the gut more efficiently than using psyllium alone.

• Pre- and Probiotics: Support the natural physiological recovery of the gut lining from environmental friction caused by sand particles, quickly bringing the microflora back into a stable, healthy nutritional balance.

Important Notice & Feeding Guide

Feeding Recommendation

Mix the powder daily with the regular feed ration:

• Routine Support (for horses on sandy pastures): Administer 2 x 50 g per day for 10 consecutive days per month.

• Targeted Support (if sand accumulation is noticed): Administer 2 x 100 g per day for 10 consecutive days.

• Dosage Note: 1 measuring scoop equals approximately 50 g.

• Maximum daily dose: 300 g per horse/day.

💡 Management Tip (Faecal Sand Test): To check if your horse is ingesting an elevated amount of sand, place a few fecal balls in a clear plastic bag, flatten them, and add water. After approximately one hour, any sand present will settle clearly to the bottom of the bag.

• Keep the container tightly closed after use to prevent moisture absorption and premature swelling.
