The Trust Hackamore Long Combi “Jointed” combines the action of a bit with a hackamore, providing gentle yet effective control for riders with experienced and sensitive hands.

• Material & Sweet Iron Effect: The mouthpiece is made of strong steel with the signature blue color of Sweet Iron. When exposed to moisture, Sweet Iron naturally forms a thin surface rust that tastes slightly sweet, encouraging the horse to chew and salivate. Over time, the blue color changes to grey or brown as part of natural oxidation. When not in use, a light orange-brown film may appear on the mouthpiece—this can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and is not a defect.

• Design Advantage: The bit features an additional hackamore-style noseband, applying pressure to the nose as well as the mouth. This distributes pressure across several points of the horse’s head, making it a great option for horses with a sensitive mouth.

• Action: Despite the pressure being distributed, the combined effect on the nose, mouth, tongue, and poll can be significant. For this reason, this bit should only be used by riders with experienced, soft, and sensitive hands.

• Jointed Mouthpiece: The single-jointed mouthpiece creates a classic nutcracker effect, applying clear and direct pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth for precise communication.
