The Trust Hackamore Long Combi “Elliptical” combines the action of a bit with a hackamore, offering gentle but precise control for experienced riders.

• Material & Sweet Iron Effect: The mouthpiece is made of durable steel with the distinctive blue color of Sweet Iron. When exposed to moisture, Sweet Iron naturally forms a thin surface rust that tastes slightly sweet, stimulating natural chewing and salivation. Over time, the blue color changes to grey or brown due to natural oxidation. When not in use, a light orange-brown film may appear on the mouthpiece—this can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and is not a defect.

• Design Advantage: The bit features an additional hackamore-like noseband, applying pressure to the nose as well as the mouth. This distributes pressure across several points of the horse’s head, making it ideal for horses with a sensitive mouth.

• Action: Even though the pressure is spread out, the combined effect on the nose, mouth, tongue, and poll can be strong. This bit therefore requires experienced, soft, and sensitive hands.

• Elliptical Mouthpiece: The double-jointed elliptical center piece provides an even and smooth pressure distribution over the tongue, encouraging relaxation and acceptance.

• Safety Detail: Bit guards are added to prevent pinching of the lips and to ensure a comfortable, finished fit.
