Trust Pelham Sweet Iron Jointed – Single Joint

The Pelham bit combines leverage action on both the poll (behind the ears) and the chin.
It can be used with one or two reins:

• When using a single rein, a Pelham strap must connect the upper and lower rings.

• The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage effect.

• The curb chain must be properly adjusted to fit snugly.

The mouthpiece is made of Sweet Iron, recognizable by its characteristic blue color.
When exposed to moisture, Sweet Iron forms a sweet-tasting surface rust that naturally stimulates salivation, encouraging the horse to accept the bit more readily.
The single-jointed mouthpiece applies only light pressure on the tongue, acting mainly on the bars and the edges of the tongue, promoting a soft and steady contact.

Care Note:
If not used for a while, a thin orange-brown rust layer may develop on the mouthpiece.
This is harmless and can be removed with a damp cloth.
