Care Tips for Clipper Blades and Machines

During clipping:

• Make sure the animal’s coat is clean, dry, and free of sweat or dirt particles. Sand or debris can shorten the blade’s lifespan.

• Oil the blades and clipper head every 10 minutes using only professional clipper oil. This reduces wear, prevents overheating, and ensures smooth performance.

• Avoid overheating: If blades become too hot, allow them to cool before continuing.

• Check blade tension (pressure setting) according to your clipper’s manual.

  • Too little pressure → uneven results.

  • Too much pressure → overheating and faster wear.

After clipping:

• Clean blades thoroughly with a soft brush to remove hair and oil residue.

• Apply oil to all blade surfaces (cutting edges, back, and sides) to prevent rust.

• Store blades in a dry place, ideally in a protective case — avoid damp areas like tack rooms.

• Before next use, apply a small amount of oil and run the clipper for 10 seconds in idle mode.
