Sweet Iron Loose Ring Elliptical

The Elliptical Loose Ring Bit has a mouthpiece with two joints and a slightly curved shape.

• It sits more comfortably in the horse’s mouth and moves freely, which helps the horse accept it more easily.

• The bit applies even pressure on the tongue, the bars (the gums next to the teeth), and the lips.

• ⚠️ If a horse has a narrow lower jaw, the joints may press on the bars and cause discomfort or small wounds, so checking the fit is important.

• Compared to a single-jointed bit, this one puts more pressure on the tongue, encouraging the horse to chew and stay relaxed.

Sweet Iron Material

• Made of steel with a recognizable blue color when new.

• When exposed to air or moisture, the surface develops a thin rust layer (oxidation).

• This rust tastes slightly sweet, which naturally stimulates saliva production.

• More saliva means more chewing, a softer mouth, and better acceptance of the bit.

• Over time, the color will change from blue to brown or gray, which is normal and shows the material is working.

• If the bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown layer may appear, but it can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and is not a defect.

Mode of Action

• The loose rings move freely, so the pressure from the reins is felt mainly on the tongue and lower jaw, not the neck.

• Because the rings can move, they soften the rider’s hand, making this bit forgiving for riders with less steady hands.

• Horses can also slightly lift the bit with their tongue to relieve pressure for a short time.

• This makes it suitable for all training levels, including young horses and beginner riders.
