The Trust Sweet Iron Hackamore Long Combi combines the action of a bit with a hackamore for gentle yet effective communication.

• Material & Sweet Iron Effect: The mouthpiece is made of durable steel with the distinctive blue color of Sweet Iron. When exposed to moisture, the Sweet Iron naturally forms a thin surface rust that tastes slightly sweet, encouraging the horse to chew and salivate. Over time, the blue color changes to grey or brown as part of the natural oxidation process. If left unused, a light orange-brown film may appear on the mouthpiece—this can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and is not a defect.

• Design Advantage: This bit features an additional hackamore-like noseband, applying pressure to the nose as well as the mouth. This distributes pressure across several points of the horse’s head rather than concentrating it solely in the mouth, making it ideal for horses with a sensitive mouth.

• Action: Despite the pressure being spread out, the combined effect on the nose, mouth, tongue, and poll can be strong. Therefore, this bit requires experienced, soft, and sensitive hands.

• French Link: The double-jointed French Link in the center provides more targeted pressure on the tongue’s middle, allowing refined communication.
